Introduction

Our SEN Information Report – which is part of Durham County Council’s Local Offer – provides details about how we support children and young people with Special Educational Needs in our school.

The SEN Information Report was reviewed and updated in October 2018. It is reviewed annually and is monitored on a termly basis through school systems, and is reviewed by the SENDCo and Senior Leaders and ratified by the Governing Body, after consultation with members of the whole school community.

Ethos

At North Park Primary School we pride ourselves on being an inclusive school. We recognise that all pupils are entitled to a quality of provision that will enable them to achieve their potential. We believe in positive intervention, removing barriers to learning, raising expectations and levels of achievement and working in partnership with parents, extended families and other agencies in order to provide a positive educational experience for all our pupils including those with a special educational need or disability. We strive to ensure that all pupils, regardless of their additional needs make the best possible progress.

The SEND Policy was produced after consultation with parents/ carers, children and the governing body of the school.
